About Us At Saffire Artisan Chocolates
What you can expect from Saffire Artisan Chocolates
This website will give you just a small flavour of what we do. Should you not have visited before, you will need to prepare for the smell and taste of our chocolate. Our unusual combinations of flavours and the wide range of bars and novelties helps us offer you options for that special present or event. And should that not be enough, you can watch us making chocolates and even take a Chocolate Experience Workshop with us.
At Saffire Artisan Chocolates all our Artisan Chocolates, Truffles, Bars and Novelties are hand-crafted, filled and wrapped by us, in our Shop.
Saffire Artisan Chocolates was started by Angela, as a ‘new hobby’ when she retired in 2004, the business quickly grew from farmers markets, into what is today, a small and successful business, out-letting to a few bespoke local farm shops & delis.
Angela’s son, Gary, joined Saffire Artisan Chocolates with his wife, Sharlene, about 8 years ago. More recently Kathrin, their daughter and Angela’s granddaughter has joined the business. Three generations of a family working together reinforces the family business idea.
Visit our shop and Kathrin will probably greet you. She has an infectious smile and despite her youth, she is very knowledgeable about our business, the chocolate we use and the products we make. She also has responsibility for our social media accounts.
Gary & Sharlene
Gary is an artisan chocolatier and his main responsibility is the production of our exciting new range of truffles although he will turn his hand to most things, including creating the weird, wacky and fabulous. Check out the World’s Most Expensive Chocolate Shoe that he has developed. Each one takes over a week to make and is not for eating! Click Here.
Sharlene is at the heart of our business. She keeps us all on track to meet deadlines, monitors and rotates stock, labels, packs, makes the coffee and answers the phone and e-mails. Not only that, she has so many skills that she can step into any other role at short notice. If you telephone our shop it will probably be Sharlene who speaks to you.
Angela is also an artisan chocolatier. She develops and makes our wide range of bars and novelties and will also make truffle if needed. Angela runs our Chocolate making workshops as well as being our link with various networking groups. She was a Valedictorian graduate of Ecole Chocolat and has an extensive knowledge of chocolate, its properties, ingredients, legislation and allergens.
